Nature, Picasso and other ramblings…

  1. As we’re all trying to keep up with the COVID-19 news, I’ve been spending lots of time by the ocean. I’ve been thinking about Nature, the essential part of our world we have so little control over. I wonder what lessons we’ll all take away from this pandemic. Will we travel less? Buy more locally-produced goods? Feel more or less friendly towards people around the world?

2. Totally unconnected, but I love this, sadly, very true Picasso quote:

3. And on the topic of nature, a little video produced by RUNNING THE GOAT PRESS, the publisher of DANCING WITH DAISY:

4. Otherwise, I’ve been taking a few pictures here on beautiful Saint Simons Island, Georgia (as we begin to prepare ourselves that we may have to leave early… Charlie would be devastated. But of course, there are worse things that could happen.)

Thanks for putting up with my rambling. Stay safe out there, and stock up on soap!

    1. Well said. I’m very happy to be back home. We’re under a strict 14-day self isolation, and all non-essential businesses are closed pretty much across Canada. Time to rely on good neighbors for food and such.

  1. Beautiful post! It really has been lovely weather–I’m in Charleston, SC–and the sunrise and sunsets gorgeous. I sit out on the back porch and watch the sun go down every day now.

    1. Yup. I’m missing those Georgia sunrises, but I’m happy to be home, and content to self-isolate for 14 days, in hopes we didn’t pick up the virus at a gas station as we bolted for the border last week. We spent a night in Charleston on our way down this year – stayed at the Indigo Inn, which was lovely – cheese and wine upon arrival, and an amazing breakfast. And the market! Enjoy the warmth:) (as it’s snowing here again)

  2. I love the quote by Picasso. I always find it interesting that his pictures as a child were more realistic, which is more my style. Love the photos as well! It’s been beautiful here in Oregon as well–which is nice because we can still go walking!

    1. The Nova Scotia government has closed most parks and trails in an effort to convince people to stay home. And most non-essential businesses are closed across Canada, so I’m hopeful the virus will be more contained than otherwise. Meanwhile, we’re enjoying touring around our yard with the dog while under a strict 14-day self-isolation. Cheers!
